Drug cross‐linking electrospun fiber for effective infected wound healing

نویسندگان

چکیده

The management of infected wounds is still an intractable challenge in clinic. Development antibacterial wound dressing great practical significance for management. Herein, a natural-derived drug, tannic acid (TA), was incorporated into the electrospun polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber (TA/PVA fiber, 952 ± 40 nm diameter). TA worked as cross-linker via hydrogen bonding with PVA to improve physicochemical properties and reach sustained drug release (88% at 48 h). Improved mechanical property (0.8–1.2 MPa) computational simulation validated formation bonds between PVA. Moreover, anti-inflammatory characteristics laid foundation application TA/PVA repairing wounds. Meanwhile, vitro studies proved high hemocompatibility cytocompatibility fiber. Further vivo animal investigation showed that promoted repair by inhibiting bacterial growth, promoting granulation formation, collagen matrix deposition, accelerating angiogenesis, inducing M2 macrophage polarization within 14 days. All data demonstrated cross-linked would be potent bacteria-infected healing.

Electrospun silk material systems for wound healing.

The functional properties of six distinct electrospun silk material groups were evaluated to assess conformational and biocompatible characteristics related to wound dressings. In a hydrated state, all six silk matrices exhibited absorption, water vapor transmission, oxygen permeation and enzymatic biodegradation suitable for full-thickness wound sites. Employing constrained drying techniques, ...

Electrospun Fibers as a Dressing Material for Drug and Biological Agent Delivery in Wound Healing Applications

Wound healing is a complex tissue regeneration process that promotes the growth of new tissue to provide the body with the necessary barrier from the outside environment. In the class of non-healing wounds, diabetic wounds, and ulcers, dressing materials that are available clinically (e.g., gels and creams) have demonstrated only a slow improvement with current available technologies. Among all...

Lysozyme-loaded, electrospun chitosan-based nanofiber mats for wound healing.

In this study, a blend mixture of chitosan-ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (CS 2 wt%-EDTA) at a weight ratio of 30/70 and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution (10 wt%) was electrospun to produce fibrous mats with lysozyme (10, 20 and 30 wt%) used for wound healing. The morphology and diameter of the electrospun fiber mats with and without lysozyme were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM)...
